Woke up to a lazy saturday afternoon. After 2 continuous days of badminton and walking down the somewhat overhyped southern ridge, walking up the stairs is, literally a pain in my butt hehe. I don't have the pictures with me but i must say that the southern ridge thing was very much a walk in the park i.e. tamed, not quite the adventure trail we were seeking or rather hoping to revive. The weather was good, by singapore standards, though somewhat hot but at least it didn't rain. Started at kent-ridge park and had quite a fun time goofing on the AMX-13 light tank. HortPark came next and it somewhat fell short of my expectations haha. Nice exhibits but nevertheless still exhibits. I guess the best part was at henderson waves where you could get a really nice view of the....sea tainted by the urban landscape haha. Oh well, it singapore what do you expect. Anyway got my graphite racquet and the canon A590IS. A little intimidated by all the manual settings, gotta do a bit of research into phototgraphy and hopefully i can post a couple of test shots by then. To conclude, i shall post a couple more photos that were taken while were in japan. Not too sure if there would be vacation time this time next year. If there is, its Mount Kinabalu 2009 since everyone likes a good walk in the park haha.
I once read that japan was a dull, grey, clinical place, contrary to the image the country projects to the outside world. Well, i guess that is some truth to it, at least in the following photo. In fact, after returning from the trip, i have encoutered a no. of articles articulating the plight of blue collar workers in Japan. In those articles, it was mentioned that work - related exhaustion is the no. 2 cause of death in japan. I have also read somewhere that the perverse facet of japanese society (japan has the highest production rate for AV films) is a manifestation of the suppresive/dysfunctional nature of japanese society. Just a couple of days agao, there was a stabbing incident at Akiba.

Oh well, enough of the gloomy stuff. Here's a really old map of Mount Takao.
At the summit of Mount Takao. Clearly, it was getting dark and we had to get down quick. Being the usual suckers, we decided to attempt Trail 6 which was a nature trail.
We had to traverse muddy paths and along a small stream. I think everyone kind of enjoyed it otherwise we wouldn't have gone for the southern ridge tingy which really pales in comparison to our descent from mount takao.
Everyone in japan queues for the train. We really should import this culture.

And so the 2 couples and 4 wolves lived happily ever after. But how, one might ask. Without sheep, the wolves will go hungry and hungry wolves are certainly never happy.

Like tokyo tower, the girl's supposed to be the attraction. You can't really see her face but let me or rather ym assure you, she's sweet as ice-cream hehe. Clearly, she has some problem doing the accounts. No worries, ym - 1st class maths honours, to the rescue.
