It's the new year! Ideally we ought to be forward looking, nevertheless so much has occurred over the last 2 days that, given my talkative nature, i find it hard not to blog about it haha. 30 December 2007 started with a mission. Partially motivated to demonstrate the competency of the guys i.e. that they are not 'xun' as some have made them out to be, kr, xh, ym, zy and I made our way down to imperial treasure at marina square to have lunch. The initial plan was dim-sum at PSA building which i guess is fast becoming an end-of-sem ritual but for some reason, we decided to go to imperial treasure instead. I believe price was the primary motivating for this change in plans. Imperial Treasure was not bad and as suggested by xh (who in turn was advised by some food review), one can indeed have a filling lunch at a decent price ($14). The chicken soup la mian ($7) for instance was, as highlighted by kr, nourishing haha. Top up your fare with some dim-sum ($3-$4) and one gets variety as well. Sorry no pics because i'm not exactly a food fanatic. With nowhere to go after lunch and still suffering from the energy spike from the chicken soup, we went in search for some dessert.

Initial intent was some hokkaido ice-cream at marina square. Nevertheless, this was subsequently dismissed due to price. Hey, good food need not be expensive right. Our next consideration was thus the nearby tom's palette as highly recommended by a popular food critic but the lousy shop dissapointed us when we found it:

Unfazed by the dissapointment, we continued with our journey to reach ice-monster at The Bencoolen ( i believe). The dessert, at $6.50 and with generous servings of mango and durian, was unparalled. Finishing dessert, we had nowhere to go and decided to lure xh to compasspoint by first pretending to go sheng shiong at taka mall and then subsequently Little India's nel station. Our plans were however delayed when we made an exciting discovery along the way: LaSalle's new campus. In retrospect, the campus wasn't big at all but it perculiar architecture did attract a few curious souls and couples who were bored enough to explore the entire, yet to be occupied building.

To begin, the new campus has this medium sized lawn fitted with carpet grass and artificial turf, probably the idea spot for a picnic. Ym spoke as if the campus tour was part of the day's itinenary when it was really a random thing. Then again, on scrutinising the picture below, i cannot help but wonder if the couple below (those two smiling) had it all plan i.e. to wear green and chance upon this green pasture haha. Agree, this would make an ideal spot to spend a lazy afternoon with your partner.

Never knew guys could be this vain right. I believe there's a term for this: photo-whoring haha. Decided to explore the new toilets. As xh would agree, the urinals are situated too close to the door for comfort i.e. so close that xh almost panicked when ym threatened to open the door.

Didn't take a lot of photos, i guess i sepnt most of the time laughing during occasions like trying to find our way up to the roof (to see if there was a roof garden) and then quickly running down the stairs (when we found the roof acess was restricted) as if there there was 'something' along the stairs haha (i.e. it was an attempt to scare the others), joking that we might not be able to leave the buliding after 5pm or that the stairs were neve going to end. We also spend sometime peering into a nearby condo to see if there were any pretty girls haha actually there was one by the pool.

Clearly, the tour proved to be a little too tiring for ym while the couple looked as if they had a quarrel along the way, you know just like how couples quarel in the amazing race.

Anyway the food tour ended with yoshinoya at compass point and to further increase the stakes, the remaining 3: xh, kr and me had ya kun as well. I guess the sole winner was really xh when kr fell ill the following day while i felt a little bloated throughout the night 31st december was spent at xh's house singing, watching movies and sleeping. No need for further elaboration. To end this post, i'm starting the new year with my giant banana haha don't blame me if mis-intepreted my statment for your intepretation is shaped by your own (courrpted) minset haha.
