There is something this new year,
that is lacking in me.
Not too different from a missing jigsaw piece.

I try hard not to think about it,
but my thoughts
never seem to steer sufficiently far away from it,
bringing futility to my reclusivity.

Don't be afraid,
I never expected you to reciprocate,
all i ever wanted,
was just to take another look at your face.

If you only knew, this is how i feel,
always.
