RETAIL THERAPY
Some people like to brag about where they went (say the zoo or perhaps H&M, i do not know where's that or what's that but it took me a long time to decipher what MS so H&M's going to take me an even longer time to decrypt), what they saw and what they bought (no offense intended, caustic remarks are purely for exaggeration and entertainment purposes, these days i have to add clauses to my statements to avoid being, increasingly, misconstrued) and i'm absolutely jealous, green with envy if you must insist so today's entry is going to be about my retail adventures too. Hehe.
Was reading the papers this morning when i saw this full page ad on GNC's annual clearence sale. My mum's a member so usaully i get a 25% off but in clearence sales like the one today, the standard protocol would be a 40% discount so within 4mins and 59 seconds (+/- 0.5s)* i was ready to roar my way down to suntec city( *4mins 59seconds does not encompass the time i took to bath and fix my jack ass internet). Ploughing through the crowd of gays and guys with muscles bigger than my thighs i managed to sink my teeth on two bottles of creatine which normally retail at $62 (if you ain't a member), membership translates into a $16 discount i.e. $44 and today it was on sale for $37 dollars so i decided to get two bottles so that my transport cost would be justified. Besides the sales girl told me "guys with small muscles/biceps are allocated only one bottle but i pleaded with her saying that if i don't get my fix, i will be suffering from withdrawal symtoms and she agreed out of sympathy. People undergoing "cold turkey" now for whatever the addcition knows this best hehe. Ok, other than the cost figures which i have listed above, everything's ficticious but i hope i made you laughed.
On a more serious tone, the sale today was more "receptive", what do i mean by that. Well i was at GNC's sale, also at suntec city, last year and most of the stuff that was on sale was sports nutrition meaning creatine, glucose powder, whey protein etc etc and correspondingly, to acctentuate the sporty image which i believe was their underlying theme, most of the staff they employed (part-time i believe) were model-like guys and girls with killer looks and figures and hell of course i felt intimidated in fact inferior to some extent. Well this year's theme was more family-oriented. It was more like a fair, saw a couple of kids with their parents and their staff were more the typical kind of people i see around, like you and me hehe. Well, they might change their staff and strategy but hey, the savvy uncle tim always ask the same question. No, not the hp number of that cute salesgirl but rather "excuse me, do i get a further discount if i'm a member" hehe and as expected "no sir, all the prices are NETT" on hearing the preceding statement, i promptly parted my blood sweat money with their rather chubby cashier.
After my shopping spree which lasted a total of 4mins and 59s, yes i don'y stay too long, i rushed down to meet the guys at potong pasir for basketball but it was all over when i reached... so don't need play lor (must use the word rush so that it sounds like i have tried my best hehe) Well going back to potong pasir did revive some of my memories of the days i was in St Andrews.. In fact i use to play street soccer on the very same court which the guys lost the match today...opps hehe The same old macdonald and kopitiams are there.
Following dinner, i went down to kovan, where i used to live (yes yes back to all the old place and sa sense of nostalgia invariably swarms over me) to get an extra pair of weights to add on to my dumbell hehe gt a 3 bucks discount using the sports link card. Now that i have expanded my arsenal, its time to train harder and and study longer (dun play play lehz, a xi-ge lifts 14kg with one hand oh, hmn 14 shall be my aim, currently at 11 but nevertheless i'm quite pleased that i have made it to 11 considering that i statrted with 5kg when i was in the army and i'm like feather-light) i don't have much of a choice anyway since i now in a kobayashi maru situation but trust me it isn't really that bad if my preduictions turn out right). Don't understand what i mean by that, well then clearly the message isn't intended for you.
