Just when i was about to lament how it sucks to be in reservist, i came across this clip in someone's blog. Puts me to shame, the guy in the video is 65 years old and he's finishing tri-athalons with his son in his arms. The furthest i have run is 42 km and it pales in comparison with what the guy in the clip has done. I guess when one's equipped with a reason, there's nothing we can't accomplish as aptly epitomized by the word "can" in the clip. Another facet of the clip which resonated within me was the unconditional love the father displayed, for his son, in the video. A love so real, so sincere that i find it absolutely refreshing particularly in light of the fact that i'm faced with f*** up people everyday. Surely i can do more, while i might not have a reason to do so now, a reason to run further, work harder that is, i'm sure my reason wil come along someday. One last point, i'm sure all parents love their child as much as the guy in the video but probably not as explicit to the extent of expressing it via action so, i guess we really shouldn't take our parents for granted either.
