Those of you who know me well or rather those who have read my blog recently would probably realise that i'm fond of using the adjective "scenic" to describe the running routes which i enjoy most. Now, while the term "scenic" does to some extent convey the idea and mental image of a picturesque surrounding, the term invariably fails to encapsulate the true beauty of nature. At this juncture, you might wonder why am i suddenly getting all so philosophical, well to summarize, tw, ym and i went running this evening and out of sheer curiosity, we decided to abandon our original and venture into unknown terrain. I guess, at the day, we were all well rewarded for our boldness as the following pictures testify although i'm sure tw was about to whack me for suggesting such an ulu route, luckily we reached punggol marina before he lost it haha.
beautiful isn't it...no not tw and ym (ok lar they also handsome hehe), i mean the sun setting in the background...guess which yatch is TW's
i'm not bucktoothed by nature i'm just trying to be funny. YM in his "army" singlet...so reservist...so uncle...hehe
On our way to eat seafood at punggol marina/ubin seafood center, due to budget constraints however (we had only $30 with us) we were forced to eat at KFC at compass point (well our burger was fish so i guess we did had our "seafood" dinner at the end of the day). Another point to note too was that the cleaning auntie at punggol marina was very nice (dun play play, she speaks english) and so was the lady boss of Sri cafe at the country club...both were kind enough to treat us each a can of drink haha ok lar we each paid $1.20 for it. If you ever have the chance to visit the place...patronize their stall.
Me showing the third finger...drawing inspiration from the latest "visit anustralia" advertisement..."where the bloody hell are we...here finally"
Scenery...scenery..scenery so where's the scenery timmy has been bragging about. Cool hur...can always bring your special someone to hang out here although tw insists it isn't romantic. I guess the only other wooden walkway (i like the feel of wood, or rather jogging on wood) would probably be at sentosa and changi (not too sure if its ready yet).
taking stock of what we have accomplished...5.5km(conservative estimate) hehe next time we could consider running down to the punggol 24th avenue adventure training camp (i.e. the end of punggol road as denoted in yellow) You might ask why...because timmy ng wants to relieve his secondary school days ..back when uncle timmy was in St Andrew's and punggol was still forested area while sengkang was nothing more than a blueprint; uncle timmy and his eca people tracked from potong pasir all the way down to punggol jetty sining "stand by me", yet another retro song (i'm playing it on the last page)
