Finally i'm down with a runny nose which will probably deterioate into flu over the next couple of days. With everybody around me coughing and sneezing, i guess it was only a matter of time before the bug catches up with me. but still, despite its inevitability, getting sick at this juncture really dampens the festive spirit, furthermore i had already psyched myself up to read the class. mech textbk. Haha did you know that circular orbits have the lowest orbital energy, so its not a coincidence that the planets revolve in circular paths. ok ok their orbits are ellipitical but then again maybe their elliptical orbits may degenerate into circular ones in distant future... you know, the progression of things in nature. Anyway back to CNY, i guess with my cold, i won't be thronging the streets of Chinatown on New Year's Eve. Well, jostling in the crowd, shopping for the cheapest pinapple tarts and waxed duck has always been a pratice for me and i guess it probably qualifies as tradition. Despite the heat and physical discomfort, somehow its the part of CNY that i enjoy the most, the part which holds the most memories. In fact there was one year, when i was still in the army, when i talked to my ex gf on my HP while pushing around in the crowd, just got to know her and couldn't bear to leave the conversation i guess haha. And when i was trapped on tekong... my parents brought waxed duck during one of the visits, what can i say, encompassed in that piece of duck was a taste of home and CNY that brought respite from the island. Too bad, waxed duck kinda scarce or rather expensive these couple of years due to a shortage induced by avian flu. Man, i feel terrible but there's nothing much i can do over my flu other than load my self with vitamin c haha, actually i realised that vit c does help to avert a potential flu every now and then but once you get the flu, vit c wun help much sigh... Neither do i want to take panadol or see the doc haha i believe in recovering the natural way...maybe i sld get a flu jab, got one for free when i was in the army. Bird flu was at its height then and i had to go
thailand then. Again, commenting on its (flu jab) efficacy, well it seemed to work for the first three months after which its effect began to wane and by the ninth mth, its effect was probably minimal. the jab is supposed to keep u free from flu for a year.
Anyway thats abt it folks, till the next time. Luckily i packed my room a long time ago i probably go mad with a flu and a messy room. Not to boast of my packing skills but amateur packers coupled with an armoury of clothes, boots whatever translates into forever mess. haha .
