Seems like the current song dosen't seem to be going down too well with some of my readers so i guess i will be taking it down. No, i'm not bowing to public pressure but rather its because, while it's a beautiful song, it's the kind of song you wouldn't want to be listening to all the time. In a way, the song's very much like the person/friend i'm missing. Not too sure if i want to share this with everybody, some people might be disgusted by me, but hey wouldn't it be ironic that i'm not able to air my sentiments freely on my very own blog, besides, in addition to being an emotional outlet, isn't a blog meant to be a medium for others to know you better. Well, if you are wondering what last nights korean drama reminded me of, the answer is: a girl. More specifically it was actually the female protagonist in the show (she played the tragic role of jing shu in Heaven's ladder) who reminded me of this friend of mine. Known her in a usp class back some time ago and i guess she makes a really good friend. How good, you might ask. I don't really know her that well but based from the short period of time since i have known her, i would say she's the female equivalent of xh! Allow me to justify this bold claim of mine. There were a couple of occassions when i was feeling down and i would always complain but never once would she be reluctant to hear me out, in addition, you can msg her in the wee hours of the morning and still expect a reply. Yes, you might argue that i don't really know her that well and that all i have seen is probably just a facet of the true her but hey wouldn't you be touched if an acquaintance (acquaintance is really a more accurate term since i keep in touch with her sporadically) would to display so much patience to you. I guess before this blog, she was really my emotional outlet. Still remeber the first time i saw her, she's from HCJC and Vietnam (more specifically she's from hanoi, to digress a litlle and for those of you who give a heck about politics, prior to the defeat of the americans in the vietnam war, the north was controlled by the communist and the south i.e. Saigon was backed by the americans though i wouldn't really say they, the south vietmanese, were advocates of democracy because the president of Saigon then was really a tyrant. Also communism in vietnam is kind of different from the brutal brand of communism in China or Russia in the sense that communism was more as a tool utilized by the vietnamese to gain independence from colonial rule) and i found that intriguing. Maybe it was that chinese/communist affialiation... i was wondering how much she would she fit into the stereotype of vietnamese girls perpetuated by apocalypse redux and all those war films. Don't misconstrue my intentions, i didn't see her as some exotic commodity as how those ang mohs
would perceive asian girls. In fact, she resembles more of a Singaporean/Malaysian than a Vietnamese but with an additional tinge of feminism, grace and patriotism. Haha, i seem to be describing her in such a positive light but ultimately i think, what makes her really attractive is the perfect english she speaks (she can speak french too!) and how talking to her is simply so easy and comfortable. Before you conclude that i'm in love with her, i must say she's nothing more than a friend. Well, maybe i am a little fond of her but hey she's attached and i 'm really contend being her friend. I guess i could heck all the moral stuff and just go after her but...no, not because i'm a moral person (sorry to disappoint) but becasue, on one hand i wouldn't want to make things difficult for her on the other hand, asking her to forsake her bf and be with me would require her to infringe on some moral or ethical code, hence, even if she would to be with me, she would be less than perfect, i didn't want to spoil my impression of her. Like the the song "love is a many splendored thing" which i wouldn't want to be listening always, i wouldn't want to be too close to her. Not that i would get sick of her but rather, least she becomes entrenced in my heart. I guess she should be back in Vietnam by now. One observation though, she has short hair, think short hair girls are less pretentious (the term pretentious is up to you to intepret, need not be its usual connotation). In conclusion, i will be putting up a new song. No i'm not sad, in case you think i am after listening to the song, there's nothing to be sad over, trust me when i say she's only a friend, i'm not xh nor Yen Yuan but i still have some decency to draw the line
